Michal Sterling's Spice Shop Fundraiser

Hello! I will be participating in the Alive Pharmacy Warehouse Ride for Isabel on August 11th. This is an annual event founded by Curtis Pitt, Member for Mulgrave and his wife Kerry in memory of their daughter Isabel who was stillborn at 41 weeks in 2008. The aim was to initially raise awareness and funds for stillbirths. All funds raised by this event will support the Special Care Nursery at the Cairns Hospital.

All profits from purchases made via this fundraising site will be donated to the Alive Pharmacy Warehouse Ride for Isabel Fundraiser.

Place orders no later than Sunday the 14th of July. Orders will be ready for collection from the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation office from 3pm Friday the 19th of July. Cairns orders only, shipping is not available.

What This Means To Me

This is a cause close to my heart as my mother's first baby, Kobe, was stillborn. My mum has always spoken about her and I grew up knowing I had an older sister who was stillborn. She was so much a part of our family that I named my first born daughter after her. So I will be riding in memory of my sister, Kobe, and with the hope that women who suffer pregnancy loss in the future will not experience the same lack of support and understanding that my own mother did.

About This Fundraiser

My mother, Zana, is supporting me with this fundraiser through her business, Spicez, a boutique Spicery nestled in the beautiful Koah Valley.

To enable people to experience Sri Lanka in their own kitchens, Zana created a series of gourmet Sri Lankan Curry kits. These Kits were created for people too busy for complicated food preparation and daunting ingredient lists but who find great pleasure in a home-cooked meal. Creating an authentic taste was paramount. Much time has been spent in sourcing the best whole spices available. Zana has many secret ingredients but the most important is love. You will taste the love that has been passed down through the generations in her spice products as though you were sitting at her grandmother's table.
